PDA Outbound Operations

1. Scenario

Use PDA outbound operations to query waves and complete pallet-label preparation, picking, shipping-label printing, review, and trailer loading at the warehouse floor.

This guide covers:

• Picking the current order by scanning product codes.
• Picking products onto pallets before labeling and review.
• Reviewing by wave, pallet, or tracking number.
• Creating a trailer and loading pallets or packages.

Prerequisites

1. Sign in to the PDA and select the warehouse where the work is performed.
2. Outbound orders have been released to an executable wave.
3. Prepare unused pallet labels for pallet-based picking.
4. Connect a printer in the PDA settings before printing pallet labels or shipping labels.

2. Steps

2.1 Open Ship and query a wave

1. Sign in to the PDA and tap 【Ship】 in the bottom navigation.
2. Scan or enter a business number in the top field, then tap 【Query】.
3. To query a wave, tap the target row in the result list.
4. To narrow the list, tap the status summary or open 【More】-【Search】. Filter by Pick, Label, Review, and Load status.

The top field routes scans as follows:

Wave number	Queries waves; opens the details automatically when there is one match
Pallet number	Opens pallet picking and finds an available wave
Outbound order number	Shows the outbound-order details
Tracking number	Opens 【Review】 and loads the review scope

2.2 Print pallet labels

1. On the Ship home page, tap 【More】.
2. Tap 【Pallet Label】.
3. Enter the quantity or use the 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 quick-add buttons. One print job supports 1 to 100 labels.
4. Confirm the printer and quantity, then print.
5. Check the reported success count against the physical labels.

If no printer is configured, the PDA prompts you to configure one first.

2.3 Check wave details

1. Tap a wave on the Ship list.
2. Check the wave number, Pick Status, Ship Status, and order list.
3. Continue according to the displayed pick method:
   • Pick by Order: tap 【Pick List】.
   • Pallet-based picking: scan a pallet label on the wave-details page.

2.4 Pick by order

1. Tap 【Pick List】 on the wave-details page.
2. Check the current order number, product codes, and quantities.
3. Scan the GSKU or SKU belonging to the current order. A code from another order is not counted.
4. Continue until every line of the current order is picked.
5. Confirm printing when the label prompt appears. A shipping label cannot be printed before the order is fully picked.

If printing fails, check that the order is fully picked, its label is available, and the PDA printer is connected.

2.5 Pick by pallet

1. Scan a pallet label from wave details, or scan the pallet number directly on the Ship home page.
2. If only one wave is available, picking opens directly. If multiple waves are available, select the target wave in the dialog.
3. Check the pallet number, wave number, and pick method at the top of the page.
4. Scan the GSKU, Custom Code, SKU, or FNSKU shown for the current work.
5. When the remaining quantity is greater than 1, enter a quantity between 1 and the remaining quantity.
6. Complete all lines, tap 【Finish】, and confirm pallet-picking completion.

During picking, you can report an exception for an unfinished line, clear a resolved exception, undo the latest pick for a line, or tap 【Change Pallet】 to scan another pallet.

A picked pallet can be reopened only when review has not started. Once review is in progress or complete, picking cannot continue.

2.6 Print Shipping Labels

1. On the Ship home page, tap 【More】-【Shipping Label】. You can also open 【Pallets】 and tap a picked pallet.
2. Scan a pallet that has completed picking.
3. Check the pallet number, wave number, and pending label lines.
4. Scan the product code. If the item requires serial numbers, scan them in the dialog before printing.
5. Printed lines appear in green. When scanning or tapping an already printed line, confirm whether a reprint is required.
6. Use Print All when the full label set should be processed together. When all lines are complete, confirm that labeling for the pallet is complete.

Step 4's automatic advance to the next serial number on scan relies on the DT50's scan integration (see PDA Quick Start 3.1 Known limitations on unverified devices). On an unverified device, each scan requires a manual confirm tap before moving to the next field — let on-site staff know in advance.

2.7 Review outbound items

1. On the Ship home page, tap 【More】-【Review】. You can also scan a tracking number directly on the Ship home page.
2. First scan a wave number, pallet number, or tracking number to load the review scope.
3. For each physical item, scan its tracking number and SKU/GSKU. Either scan order is accepted. A successfully paired line is marked complete.
4. Check progress on 【Finish (reviewed/total)】. Review finishes automatically after all rows are paired; you can also tap the button after confirming that all rows are complete.
5. Move the goods to loading after the 【Review Completed】 message appears.

If the same completed tracking/product pair is scanned again, the PDA warns of possible duplicate labeling. Stop and verify the package before continuing.

2.8 View picked pallets

1. On the Ship home page, tap 【More】-【Pallets】.
2. Scan a pallet label or filter by Pick, Label, Review, and Load status.
3. Check the pallet number, wave number, picked time, and status of each outbound stage.
4. Tap a pallet to open Shipping Label. To load it directly, tap 【Load】 and select a trailer.

2.9 Load a trailer

1. On the Ship home page, tap 【More】-【Load】.
2. If there is no available trailer, create one. Select 【Carrier】 and enter 【Trailer No】; both fields are required.
3. Tap an 【OPEN】 trailer to enter the loading page.
4. Scan a pallet number or tracking number. The page updates the last scan, pallet count, package count, and loaded orders.
5. After all goods are scanned, tap 【Finish】 and confirm loading completion.
6. After the trailer departs, tap 【Dispatch】 on the trailer list and confirm. The status changes to 【DISPATCHED】.

Scanning additional goods into a finished or dispatched trailer produces a warning. Continue only after confirming that an addition is required.

3. Notes

3.1 Statuses

The PDA retains filter selections. If the list is unexpectedly empty or incomplete, check whether filters from the previous query are still applied.

3.2 Pallet rules

• The pallet label must belong to the current warehouse and be available for work.
• When one pallet matches multiple available waves, select the wave manually.
• A pallet cannot return to picking after review has started.
• Shipping Label accepts picked pallets that have available shipping labels.

3.3 Printing and serial numbers

• Before printing, check the selected PDA printer, paper, and network connection.
• In Pick by Order, the order must be fully picked before its label can be printed.
• Serial-controlled items require serial-number scans during Shipping Label.
• Verify the physical package before reprinting to avoid applying the same label twice.

4. FAQ

4.1 Why did a scan on the Ship home page open Review?

The field chooses a function from the code format. A value not recognized as a wave, pallet, or outbound-order number is treated as a tracking number. Verify the barcode type and scan the complete value.

4.2 Why does the pallet have no available wave?

Check the selected warehouse, pallet number, pallet status, and whether the target wave is still executable. If multiple waves are returned, select the target wave in the dialog.

4.3 Why can a picked pallet not continue picking?

Picking is blocked after review starts or completes. Check the pallet status. If physical goods require correction, ask the responsible operator to verify the preceding status first.

4.4 Why can Shipping Label not print?

Check whether the pallet is picked, the order has an available label, the PDA printer is connected, and required serial numbers have been scanned. If the line is already green, verify that the physical package is missing its label before reprinting.

4.5 What should I do after a duplicate-label warning in Review?

Stop scanning and compare the package, shipping label, and completion mark. Do not apply one shipping label to two items.

4.6 Why can a trailer not be created?

Both Carrier and Trailer No are required. Complete both fields and submit again.

4.7 Can I scan more goods after a trailer is finished?

The PDA displays a warning for a finished or dispatched trailer. Continue only when the physical goods, trailer, and system records have been checked and the addition is confirmed.
