PDA Quick Start ​

1. Scenario ​

Use this guide to install GWMS PDA, sign in for the first time, and find the Receive, Count, Move, Ship, Return, and Me modules.

Prerequisites ​

  1. Verified only on the Urovo DT50 so far. The device must run Android 7.0 or later, have network access, and support 1D/2D scanning; before using another model, read "Known limitations on unverified devices" below.
  2. Obtain the current APK, GWMS Code, username, and password.
  3. Make sure the account has an available default warehouse.

2. Steps ​

2.1 Install and update ​

  1. Install the APK provided by your administrator or implementation team.
  2. Open 【GWMS】. The app checks for updates on startup.
  3. If an update dialog appears, tap 【Update Now】 to download it or 【Later】 to continue to sign-in.

2.2 Sign in ​

  1. Enter the code provided by your administrator in 【GWMS Code】.
  2. Wait for 【Connected to: [system name]】 and for the username, password, and captcha fields to become available.
  3. Select English, 中文, Español, or Français when another interface language is required.
  4. Enter 【Username】, 【Password】, and 【Captcha】, then tap 【Login】.
  5. To save credentials, select 【Remember username and password】 before signing in. Follow local policy on shared devices.

2.3 Use the bottom navigation ​

  1. The app opens Receive after a successful sign-in.
  2. Tap 【+】 in the lower-right corner to expand or collapse the menu.
  3. Select Receive, Count, Move, Ship, Return, or Me.

Result: the PDA loads business data for the account's default warehouse.

3. Notes ​

  • The PDA does not provide a separate warehouse selector after sign-in.
  • Tap the eye icon in the password field to switch between masked and visible text.
  • 【Forgot Password】 directs you to contact an administrator or supervisor.

3.1 Known limitations on unverified devices ​

Different PDA vendors all use laser scan heads, but each vendor integrates its scan head with its own local development — an app has to "register" to receive that vendor's scan broadcast before it can be notified the instant a scan happens. On a device that hasn't been integrated this way, a scan still types into whatever input is focused (no different from a keyboard), but the app never receives the "scan complete" event. As a result, any step in this documentation described as "automatically triggers on scan" may not work on an unverified device.

Known issues on unverified devices include:

  • After scanning a source location in Move, the app does not automatically open the inventory-query page; tap 【Query】 manually to continue (see PDA Move 2.1).
  • During continuous serial-number scanning in Ship, the app does not automatically advance to the next field; each scan requires a manual confirm tap (see PDA Outbound 2.6).
  • Any other step documented as "automatically triggers / confirms / advances on scan" may need a manual tap on the corresponding button instead — and in some flows without a manual confirm option, the step may not be completable at all.

Only the Urovo DT50 has been verified and tested so far; verify compatibility yourself before using another model.

4. FAQ ​

Q1: Why are the username and password fields unavailable? ​

A1: The GWMS Code has probably not resolved. Enter a valid code and wait for the connection message and captcha before entering credentials.

Q2: What should I do when the captcha is unavailable? ​

A2: Reload the captcha. If domain resolution still fails, ask an administrator to verify the GWMS Code.
