PDA Inventory Query

1. Scenario

Inventory Query lets warehouse staff quickly verify the stock of a location or an item on the PDA. Entry is from GWMS PDA-Count or GWMS PDA-Move by scanning directly on the home page:

• Scan a location: open that location's inventory-query page. The top summary table is summarized by GSKU; the bottom detail list shows each GSKU's age, putaway date, and quantity/locked quantity.
• Scan an SKU/GSKU: the system identifies the product (select from a dialog when one barcode matches multiple SKUs), then opens that product's inventory-query page. The top summary table is summarized by location; the bottom detail list shows the item's stock in each location.

Tap a summary row, or any detail row, to view that SKU's inventory history at that location (putaway, move, outbound).

Prerequisites

1. Sign in to the warehouse being worked; the warehouse must match the inventory you want to query.
2. Location and SKU/GSKU barcodes are readable.
3. Results reflect the current warehouse only. For cross-warehouse inventory, use desktop Inventory Management.

2. Steps

2.1 Query inventory from the Count home

2.1.1 Scan a location on the Count home

1. On the GWMS PDA-Count home page, scan a location label directly.
2. The PDA opens the inventory-query page for that location. The top-right action is 【Start Count】.
3. The top summary table is grouped by GSKU; the bottom detail list shows GSKU, REF, putaway date, age, and quantity/locked quantity.
4. Tap a summary row or detail row to view inventory history for that SKU at the current location.

2.1.2 Scan an SKU on the Count home

1. On the GWMS PDA-Count home page, scan an SKU or GSKU directly.
2. The PDA identifies the product. A single match opens directly; multiple matches show a dialog with GSKU, REF, SKU, FNSKU, and status.
3. The inventory-query page opens for that product. The top-right action is 【Start Count】.
4. The top summary table is grouped by location; the bottom detail list shows the product's inventory details by location.

2.2 Query inventory from the Move home

2.2.1 Scan a location on the Move home

1. On the GWMS PDA-Move home page, scan a source location directly.
2. The PDA opens the inventory-query page for that location. The top-right action is 【Start Move】.
3. The top summary table is grouped by GSKU; the bottom detail list shows GSKU, REF, putaway date, age, and quantity/locked quantity.
4. Tap a summary row or detail row to view inventory history for that SKU at the current location.

2.3 View inventory history

1. On the inventory-query page, tap a row in the top summary table (except the total row), or tap a row in the bottom detail list.
2. The inventory-history page opens. The top shows the location plus one product identifier: "REF:" when the item has a REF, otherwise "GSKU:" — never both.
3. The page shows inventory changes for that SKU at that location, organized into 4 tabs:
   • All: no operation-type filter.
   • Putaway: covers import, inbound, and return operations, not just putaway orders.
   • Move: covers move-in and move-out.
   • Outbound: outbound orders.
4. Each record shows: operation time, order type, order number, change quantity (positive and zero in green with a + sign, negative in red), before quantity → after quantity, and remarks (in red; the line is hidden when there is no remark). Missing time, type, or order number shows as "Unknown".
5. When the current tab has no records, the page shows an empty-state message.
6. Pull down at the top to refresh the current tab.

2.4 Refresh results

Pull down at the top of the inventory-query page to reload the current results.

Result: the page shows the current location's or item's inventory summary. Scan again to switch the query target, or tap the top-right button to start a count or a move.

3. Notes

3.1 Page structure

The inventory-query page (titled "Inventory Query" in the app) has two areas:

• Top summary table: three columns — a variable first column, Qty, m³ — with a 【Total】 row at the bottom. The first column header changes with the query type:
  • By location: the header is "GSKU"; summarized by GSKU, showing each GSKU's quantity, locked quantity, and volume in that location.
  • By SKU/GSKU: the header is "Location"; summarized by location, showing the item's quantity, locked quantity, and volume in each location.
• Bottom detail list: each row is one inventory record showing quantity/locked quantity, putaway date, age, plus whichever of location, GSKU, and REF is not already used as a query criterion.

3.2 Two entry modes

The top-right button on the inventory-query page depends on the entry mode:

• Entered from GWMS PDA-Count: the button is 【Start Count】, which starts a count (see PDA Count 2.1).
• Entered from GWMS PDA-Move: the button is 【Start Move】, which starts a move from the current location (see PDA Move 2.1).

4. FAQ

Q1: Why is a SKU missing after scanning a location?

A1: Confirm the SKU has stock in that location and is not fully locked or removed. If desktop Inventory Management shows stock but the PDA does not, pull down to refresh. If still inconsistent, check whether the desktop warehouse matches the PDA signed-in warehouse.

Q2: What should I do when multiple products appear after scanning?

A2: One barcode matched several SKUs. Select the item that matches the physical GSKU, REF, SKU, FNSKU, and status; the PDA then queries that SKU's inventory.

Q3: Can I start a count or a move from a PDA query?

A3: Yes. The query page opened from the Count home has a 【Start Count】 button at the top right to create a count sheet from the current results. The query page opened from the Move home has a 【Start Move】 button at the top right to start a move from the current location.

Q4: Can the PDA query cross-warehouse inventory?

A4: No. The PDA queries only the signed-in warehouse. For cross-warehouse inventory, use desktop Inventory Management - Inventory Log and filter by warehouse.

Q5: What do the red and green change quantities in inventory history mean?

A5: Green positive numbers mean inventory increased (e.g., putaway, move in); red negative numbers mean inventory decreased (e.g., outbound, move out). A zero change is also shown in green. Each record also shows before/after quantities for verification.
