Add a Product

1. Scenario

A product groups multiple SKUs for the same item. If the required value is not available in Product Name when you add a SKU, create the product first.

Use this guide when:

• A new item needs a product record.
• Multiple colors, sizes, or package variants will be created under the same product.

If the product already exists and you only need to create a specific variant, see Add a SKU.

2. Instructions

Prerequisites

1. Your account can open GWMS-Product Management-Product, and the page shows Add.
2. Confirm the product name before creating the record to prevent duplicates.

2.1 Open the Product page

Menu path: GWMS-Product Management-Product

Search by SPU Code, Product Name, or Creation Time before adding a record. This helps prevent duplicate product names.

1. Product Management-Product: opens the product list.
2. Search area: enter conditions and click Search; click Reset to clear them.
3. Actions: add, edit, delete, or export products.
4. Product list: shows SPU code, product name, creation time, and available row actions.

2.2 Enter the product name

1. Click Add.
2. GWMS opens the Add Product Name dialog.
3. Enter the name in Product Name, up to 255 characters.
4. Click Confirm to save, or Cancel to close without saving.

2.3 Check the saved record

After saving:

1. Search for the product name that you entered.
2. Confirm that the product appears in the list.
3. Check the product name and the SPU code generated by GWMS.

Result: the product is available when you add a SKU.

3. Notes

3.1 GWMS generates the SPU code

The Add dialog does not require an SPU code. GWMS displays the generated SPU code in the list after saving.

3.2 The Product page currently maintains only the product name

SKU, SKU-CN, SKU-EN, package dimensions, and value are maintained on GWMS-Product Management-SKU.

3.3 Edit and delete

Select the target product before using Edit or Delete. A button may remain disabled when the record status or your account permissions do not allow the action.

4. FAQ

Q1: Why doesn't the Add dialog include SKU, dimensions, or weight?

A1: Those fields belong to a SKU. Save the product name first, then create the specific SKU on GWMS-Product Management-SKU.

Q2: Why can't I enter the SPU code?

A2: GWMS generates it after the product is saved. Return to the list to check it.

Q3: How can I prevent duplicate products?

A3: Search by product name before clicking Add. If an existing product represents the same item, use it when creating the SKU.
