Understand GWMS SKU Review Rules
Last updated: 2026-05-20
1. Scenario
SKU review is a customer-level control rule for product data. By default, after a customer creates or imports SKUs, GWMS creates the records directly in Enabled status. The warehouse can then use those SKUs in later inbound, inventory, and outbound operations.
If a specific customer requires the warehouse to confirm product data before SKUs can be used, enable Product Review in the customer profile. After it is enabled, SKUs newly created or imported by that customer enter Pending status and must be reviewed by the warehouse before use.
Use this guide when:
- The warehouse or implementation team needs to confirm whether a customer's SKUs require review.
- Product Review has been enabled for a customer, and the customer's submitted SKUs are in Pending status.
- The warehouse needs to confirm SKU codes, package dimensions, or basic product information before receiving goods.
This guide does not apply when:
- Product Review is not enabled for the customer. In this case, newly created SKUs default to Enabled and do not need review.
- The SKU is already in Enabled or Disabled status.

3. Notes
3.1 Default rule
- Product Review in the customer profile defaults to Exempt.
- For customers set to Exempt, created or imported SKUs are generated directly in Enabled status.
- Only after Product Review is enabled for a customer will that customer's future SKUs enter Pending status.
3.2 When the Review button is available
- At least one record must be selected on the page.
- At least one selected record must be in Pending status.
- If there are no pending records, or only enabled/disabled records are selected, the Review button remains disabled.
3.3 What changes after review
- Review only changes Pending status to Enabled.
- After review succeeds, these SKUs can continue into later warehouse operations.
- Review does not complete receiving, putaway, inventory processing, or outbound processing. Continue in the corresponding business page as needed.
3.4 What to check before review
- Whether SKU and GSKU are correct.
- Whether the customer, product name, and package dimensions match warehouse operation requirements.
- Whether these SKUs are ready for formal business operations.
If the basic information is unclear, confirm with the customer or implementation team before review.
4. FAQ
Q1: Why is the Review button disabled?
A1: Check two things first: whether you have selected a record, and whether the selected record is in Pending status. If no pending record is selected, the Review button cannot be clicked. If Product Review is not enabled for the customer, newly created SKUs default to Enabled, so pending records usually will not appear.
Q2: Why does a customer-created SKU show Enabled directly?
A2: This is the current default rule. When Product Review in the customer profile is Exempt, created or imported SKUs enter Enabled status directly. If this customer must use review before SKUs can be used, go to GWMS-Customer Management-Customer List, edit the customer profile, and switch Product Review to Review.
Q3: What should I do after SKU review succeeds?
A3: Review only means the SKU has changed from Pending to Enabled. If the goods need to enter the warehouse, continue with Inbound Forecast Review, Receiving, and Putaway.
Q4: Why can't I find the SKU that the customer just created?
A4: Search again in GWMS-Product Management-SKU by SKU, GSKU, and Created Time, then confirm whether the customer submitted it successfully. If it is still missing, check account permissions and customer data scope. When needed, ask the customer or implementation team for the creation time and SKU code for troubleshooting.
