3.1 Difference between Inventory Log and Inventory Management
GWMS-Warehouse Operations-Inventory Management: review the current inventory result.GWMS-Warehouse Operations-Inventory Log: review why inventory changed and which business action caused it.
If you only need to confirm the current inventory result, use Inventory Management. If you need to trace why inventory became the current result, use Inventory Log.
3.2 How to continue tracing by order number
Lot No. and Order Number help you continue checking the related business page:
- For transfer-related records, open Warehouse Transfer Operations to review the source and target locations.
- For count-related records, open Inventory Count to review the count details and sync result.
- For other inventory changes, use the related order number to continue checking the corresponding business page.
3.3 How to understand Initiator / Operator
Initiator shows who started the business action, and Operator shows who actually completed the inventory processing. These two people may be the same or different. When you need to review responsibility or handoff history, check them together with Operation Time.
4. FAQ
Q1: Why does the same order number appear on multiple lines?
A1: One business order may affect multiple SKUs, multiple locations, or multiple batches. For a transfer order, the source location creates a transfer-out record and the target location creates a transfer-in record, so it is normal for the same order number to appear in multiple lines.
Q2: Which fields should I check first to understand the change direction?
A2: Check Before Change and After Change first. These two fields are the clearest way to judge whether inventory increased or decreased. Then use Change Quantity, Operation Type, and Order Number to continue tracing the reason.
Q3: What happens if I export without selecting any rows?
A3: The system exports the current query result based on the active filters. Select rows first only when you want to export part of that result.
Q4: How do I review inventory changes within one time range?
A4: Use the Operation Time filter on the page. Set the start time and end time, then click Search. This is suitable for checking inventory actions that happened during a specific period.
Q5: If the list shows No data, does it mean inventory never changed?
A5: Not always. In most cases, the current warehouse, location, SKU, owner, batch, or operation time filters did not match any record. Widen the filter scope and search again.
