Warehouse Transfer Operations

1. Scenario

Warehouse Transfer Operations is used to move inventory from one source location to another destination location within the same warehouse.

Use it when you need to reorganize storage locations, adjust picking locations, correct inventory placed in the wrong location, or track the movement by transfer order.

If you only need to move stock while checking the current inventory result, go to GWMS-Warehouse Operations-Inventory Management-Location Perspective and use quick transfer.

2. Search Transfer Orders

1. Go to GWMS-Warehouse Operations-Warehouse Transfer Operations.
2. Enter Warehouse, Transfer Order No., Location, GSKU, or Status as needed.
3. Click Search.

3. View Transfer Details

1. Click the target Transfer Order No. in the list.
2. The Transfer Details drawer opens on the right.
3. Review the source location, destination location, GSKU, quantity, and detail status.

4. Create a Transfer Order

1. Click Add above the list.
2. Select Warehouse.
3. Enter Remarks if you need to explain the transfer reason.
4. Click Next Step.

5. Set Transfer Details

1. In step 2 of the wizard, filter source inventory by Location, SKU, or Client.
2. Click Search.
3. Select the inventory lines to move, then enter Transfer Qty and Destination.
4. Click Save to save the order and details only; click Save and Move Inventory to move the selected inventory immediately.

6. Add Transfer Details

1. Open the target order's Transfer Details.
2. Click Add in the upper-right corner.
3. Filter source inventory by Location, SKU, or Client.
4. Enter the transfer quantity and destination location, then click Save or Save and Move Inventory.

7. Complete a Transfer Order

1. Find an order with the Not Moved or In Transfer status.
2. Click Completed in the row actions.
3. Click Confirm in the confirmation dialog.

After confirmation, the system continues to process the detail lines in this order that have not been moved yet.

8. Edit a Transfer Order

1. Click Edit on a transfer order with the Not Moved status.
2. Adjust Warehouse or Remarks as needed.
3. Click Confirm.

9. Cancel a Transfer Order

1. Click Cancel on a transfer order with the Not Moved status.
2. Click Confirm in the confirmation dialog.

10. Print Transfer Orders

1. Select the transfer orders to print.
2. Click Print.
3. Choose whether to display Custom SKU Code.
4. Click Confirm.

11. Export Transfer Orders

1. Select the transfer orders to export.
2. Click Export.

The export includes the transfer orders you selected.

12. Quick Transfer by Location

1. Go to GWMS-Warehouse Operations-Inventory Management.
2. Switch to Location Perspective.
3. In the target location row, select Destination Location.
4. If a destination location is available, start the transfer from that row.

13. Batch SKU Transfer

1. Go to GWMS-Warehouse Operations-Inventory Management-Location Perspective.
2. Expand the target location.
3. Select the SKU detail lines to move.
4. Click Transfer Stock above the table.
5. In the SKU Transfer dialog, click + DESTINATION.
6. Enter the destination location and transfer quantity, then click Confirm.

14. Additional Notes

• Save only creates the transfer order and details. Inventory is not moved until you continue the transfer later.
• Save and Move Inventory creates the transfer order and immediately moves the details entered in the current operation.
• Completed only processes detail lines that have not been moved yet. Detail lines already moved are not processed again.
• Edit and Cancel only appear on transfer orders with the Not Moved status.
• Quick transfer creates and executes a transfer order from the current inventory result. If no destination location is available in the row selector, the quick transfer cannot be started from that row.
• After a quick transfer, you can return to Warehouse Transfer Operations to search the generated record.

15. FAQ

Q1: Why can't I see Edit or Cancel?

A1: These actions only appear when the transfer order status is Not Moved. After the order changes to In Transfer or Moved, it can no longer be edited or canceled at the order level.

Q2: When should I use Save instead of Save and Move Inventory?

A2: Use Save when you only want to create the order first and move inventory later. Use Save and Move Inventory when the source location, destination location, and quantity have all been confirmed and you want the stock to move immediately.

Q3: Why can't I select the same source and destination location?

A3: A transfer must move inventory from one location to another. The destination location cannot be the same as the source location.

Q4: Where can I find the record after a quick transfer?

A4: Go to GWMS-Warehouse Operations-Warehouse Transfer Operations, then search by warehouse, transfer number, or status.
