Set Warehouse Language and Timezone in GWMS
Last updated: 2026-08-11
1. Scenario
Language and timezone settings let a warehouse account switch the interface language and the current viewing timezone from the top-right area of GWMS after login.
Use this setting when warehouse staff need to read the interface in another language or align the time shown on the page before checking cross-timezone documents, inbound records, outbound records, or operation logs.
Applicable scenarios:
- A new warehouse account needs to confirm the interface language after the first login.
- Warehouse staff need to check page time based on an overseas business region.
- Trainers or supervisors need a standalone guide for multilingual warehouse teams.
Not applicable scenarios:
- To review home page to-dos, statistics cards, and business entry points, refer to Home.
- To prepare the full setup sequence before warehouse go-live, refer to Initial Setup.
- To edit the timezone field in a warehouse profile, maintain it from the warehouse profile page. This guide only covers top-bar display settings.

Prerequisites
Confirm the following before you start:

2.4 Check Whether the Changes Have Taken Effect

- After switching the timezone, check whether the current time and timezone label at the top have refreshed.
- Before processing inbound, outbound, inventory, or fee data, confirm that the page time matches the business context you need.
Result: After completing these settings, warehouse staff can switch the interface language and current viewing timezone under the same account before continuing daily operations.
3. Supplementary Notes
3.1 Language and Timezone Affect Different Areas
- Language affects page text such as menus, titles, buttons, and filters.
- Timezone affects the current time at the top and time fields displayed based on the current account timezone.
- These two settings are independent. You can switch only the language or only the timezone.
3.2 The Top-Bar Timezone Is Not the Warehouse Profile Timezone
The top-bar timezone controls how the current account views page time. It does not edit the Time Zone field in any warehouse profile.
On the Warehouse list, the Time Zone and Local Time fields show the local time configured for each warehouse profile. They may differ from the timezone selected at the top, so check the field name before comparing times.
3.3 Read the Full Label for Daylight-Saving Timezones
New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles display two UTC offsets, such as UTC-5/UTC-4. The page displays time based on the system's current rule. When checking historical records across seasons, use the time shown on the page at the time of review.
3.4 What to Do If Some Text Does Not Switch
If some fields or buttons do not refresh after switching the language, refresh the current page first. If they still do not change, sign out and log in again. If the issue remains, save the page screenshot, target language, and operation time, then send them to your administrator for troubleshooting.
4. FAQ
Q1: Why do warehouse codes, addresses, or contacts stay the same after I switch the language?
A1: Language switching only affects system text such as menus, titles, buttons, and field names. It does not translate business data entered in the system.
Q2: Why does the Time Zone column in the Warehouse list not change after I switch the top-bar timezone?
A2: The top-bar timezone is the viewing timezone for the current account. The Time Zone column comes from the warehouse profile and is not modified by the top-bar selection.
Q3: Where should I confirm that the timezone switch has taken effect?
A3: First check whether the top-bar timezone label has changed to the target timezone, then check whether the current time at the top has changed. When processing documents, open the related list page and check the time fields there as well.
Q4: Do I need to reset the language and timezone every time I log in?
A4: If the display does not match your current business need after login, switch it again from the top bar. For cross-timezone work, check the top-bar timezone before starting daily operations.
