1. Scenario

Sort by SKU is designed for Dropshipping orders containing one item of one SKU. The warehouse first picks matching products together onto a pallet. On this page, each SKU scan selects an unprinted order from the pallet, prints its shipping label, and marks that order as labeled.

Use Secondary Sorting for single-SKU multiple-item or multiple-SKU orders. Stock Transit and Container Redistribution use Pick by Order.

2. Steps

Prerequisites

1. The wave was created with 【Pick by SKU】. GWMS selects this method by default when every selected Dropshipping order is Single SKU Single Item.
2. Pallet picking has been completed and the pallet contains the target orders.
3. The pallet label belongs to the current warehouse.
4. Orders have printable shipping-label files.
5. The print client is running and can access the target printer.

2.1 Configure the printer

1. Go to GWMS-Outbound Management-Sort by SKU.
2. Open 【Select Printer】 after loading a pallet.
3. Enter 【Print Client IP】 and 【Port】.
4. Open 【Printer Name】 to load available printers.
5. Select a printer and click 【Confirm】.

The settings are stored in the current browser. If loading printers fails, check that the print client is running, the address and port are correct, and the browser can connect to it.

2.2 Select a warehouse and scan the pallet

1. Select 【Warehouse】.
2. Scan the pallet label in 【Pallet】 and press Enter.
3. GWMS loads pallet details and downloads its shipping-label package to the print client.

After loading, the page shows Pallet, Wave, SKU Count, Item Count, and Label Status. The detail list shows GSKU, Custom Code, Product Name, Quantity, Print Status, and Reprint. Input focus moves to SKU automatically.

GWMS validates that the pallet exists and belongs to the selected warehouse. It reports when the pallet has no printable labels or the label package cannot be downloaded.

2.3 Scan products and print labels

1. Take one item from the pallet.
2. Scan its SKU, GSKU, or Custom Code in 【SKU】 and press Enter. Matching ignores leading/trailing spaces and letter case.
3. GWMS prioritizes an unprinted matching order and sends the PDF named by its WMS order number to the selected printer.
4. After success, GWMS reports 【Labeling completed】, changes the matching order to 【Printed】, and returns focus to SKU.
5. Repeat until all rows are Printed.

GWMS reports when no printer is selected, the code is not in the pallet, the related order is missing, or printing fails. A failed print does not mark the order as Printed.

2.4 Reprint a label

Find the order in the pallet details and click 【Reprint】. GWMS reports success after sending the label again. Reprinting does not increase the completed-label count again. Check the package before attaching a duplicate label.

2.5 Check completion

The first successful print for an order changes it to Printed, records its labeling completion, and increases wave and pallet labeling progress. When all orders are complete, the corresponding label status becomes Labeled.

3. Notes

3.1 Why this method is limited to single-item orders

Sort by SKU assumes that one scanned item corresponds to one order label. Orders containing multiple units or SKUs require all order contents to be confirmed together and should use Secondary Sorting.

3.2 Multiple orders with the same SKU

GWMS selects the first unprinted matching row. Each scan prints one order label, and the next scan handles the next unprinted order. Example: five units of one GSKU for five orders require five scans and produce five labels.

After all matching rows are Printed, another scan may match an existing row and print again. Stop scanning when the list is complete and use Reprint only when needed.

3.3 Accepted codes

The page supports exact SKU, GSKU, and Custom Code matches. It does not perform a partial search.

3.4 Label package and print client

Pallet scanning downloads the pallet label package. SKU scanning then asks the print client to print the PDF for the matching WMS order number. A missing package, missing order PDF, unreachable print client, or invalid printer name prevents printing.

4. FAQ

Q1: Why wasn't Pick by SKU selected by default during wave creation?

A1: It is the default only when every selected Dropshipping order is Single SKU Single Item. Other order SKU types default to Secondary Sorting.

Q2: Why does the pallet have no printable labels?

A2: Confirm that the pallet is associated with a wave and that its orders have shipping labels. Retrieve or repair the labels, then scan the pallet again.

Q3: Why does GWMS say the SKU is not in the current pallet?

A3: Check the warehouse, pallet number, and code. Only an exact SKU, GSKU, or Custom Code from the loaded pallet is accepted.

Q4: The label printed, but the row is still Unprinted. What should I do?

A4: The row changes only after the print client and order update both succeed. Check which order was printed before retrying or using Reprint.

Q5: Why did scanning the same SKU print another label?

A5: The same SKU may represent multiple orders in the pallet. GWMS processes unprinted rows in sequence. Stop when all matching rows are Printed.

Q6: Why must I select a printer again on another computer?

A6: Printer settings are stored in the current browser and do not follow the account to another computer or browser.
