Manage Customer Profiles in GWMS

Updated: 2026-10-13

1. Scenario

Customer List is used to maintain customer profiles and is also the entry point for later business and quotation setup.

Typical scenarios:

  • Query customer information
  • Create a new customer
  • Batch update customer tags or tiers
  • Enable or disable a customer
  • Continue to business quotation from a customer profile

Customer visibility

A warehouse employee's customer visibility depends on menu access, customer assignments, warehouse scope, and the role's data scope. Access to the Customer List menu does not grant customer data access. A super administrator can find the employee under GWMS-System Management-User Management, click the row's edit icon, and review Customer permissions and Warehouse separately. For ordinary warehouse staff, an empty warehouse selection means no warehouse access. Disabling All Customer Permissions with no selected customers also means no customer access. See Create Warehouse User Accounts. Customer-type accounts work with their own data and obtain available warehouses through quotations.

9. FAQ

Q1: What are the minimum fields required to add a customer?

A1: At minimum, fill in Customer Name, Customer Code, and Customer Account.

Q2: Why can't I submit the batch update?

A2: Select customers first, then choose either Customer Tags or Customer Tier for the batch update.

Q3: Why does the page jump to Business Quote?

A3: Customer List is only the profile entry point. Business and charge setup continues in the quotation editor. Review saved records under Quotation Management-Business & Quotations.

Q4: Why is Customer List empty even though I can open it?

A4: Check the following in order:

  1. Clear filters such as customer code and status, then search again.
  2. Confirm the signed-in account and account type; distinguish warehouse staff from customer accounts.
  3. Ask a super administrator to open System Management → User Management, find the employee, and click the edit icon. Check Warehouse assignments: leaving the field empty does not mean all warehouses. The assigned warehouses must overlap the target customer's quotation warehouses.
  4. Check Customer permissions: either All Customer Permissions is enabled or the target customer is explicitly selected. To assign specific customers, disable the option, open the customer field, search and select customers, then click Confirm in the dialog and save the user form. Disabling the option with no selected customers means no customer access.
  5. Sign out and sign in again after changes. If the customer is still unavailable, check the role's data scope.

For example, an employee is assigned to a warehouse, and the target customer has a quotation for that warehouse. If the employee has All Customer Permissions disabled and no selected customers, the customer remains invisible. After confirming that the customer falls within the employee's responsibilities, select the target customer, save the user, and sign in again to verify access. See Create Warehouse User Accounts for the selection steps.
