Review Overseas Order Distribution
1. Scenario
Overseas Order Distribution shows where US dropshipping orders are shipped geographically. It helps the warehouse see which warehouses ship the orders, which states and rate zones they flow to, and where logistics cost is concentrated.
Use this page when:
- You want to know which US states this month's or last month's orders concentrated in.
- You want to compare order volume and logistics cost across shipping warehouses and judge whether the warehouse network is allocated reasonably.
- You want to identify areas with a high share of high-zone orders and assess freight cost.
- You want to check how many orders were excluded from the distribution because their delivery address could not be resolved.
Do not use this page when:
- You need the details of one specific outbound order. Use the outbound order pages instead.
- You want to count orders that are not shipped yet. This page only counts shipped orders, not in-transit, picking, or unsubmitted orders.
- You want to count other business types such as stock transfer. This page only counts dropshipping orders.
- You want to count orders shipped to countries or regions outside the United States. This page only counts orders whose delivery address is in the US.
- You want to reconcile invoice amounts. The logistics cost here comes from the order, which differs from billing calculation.
2. Operation Guide
Prerequisites
Confirm the following before you start:
- Your account can access
GWMS-Report-Overseas Order Distribution. - Shipped dropshipping orders with US delivery addresses already exist.
- You know which customers and period you want to analyze. The default is the current month.
Handling flow
- Open the page, select warehouse, customer, and period, then click 【Search】.
- Read the metric cards at the top first and confirm total order count, match rate, and unknown-address order count.
- Switch between the warehouse, state, and zone views in the dimension navigation on the left.
- Click an object in the map or chart to drill down into its breakdown.
2.1 Open the page and set filters
Menu path: GWMS-Report-Overseas Order Distribution
The top of the page provides these filters:
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Warehouse | Filter by shipping warehouse. When empty, all warehouses you can access are counted. |
| Customer | Filter by customer. When empty, orders of all customers are counted. |
| Time | Three presets: current month, last month, and last three months. Defaults to the current month. |
Time offers presets only; custom start and end dates are not supported. Click 【Search】 after changing filters, and all metrics, the map, and charts are recalculated.
2.2 Switch analysis dimension
The dimension navigation on the left provides three views:
| Dimension | What it shows | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Warehouse | Order volume and logistics cost shipped from each warehouse | Compare shipping structure and freight level across warehouses |
| State | Distribution of orders flowing into US states | Identify which states form the main market |
| Zone | Distribution aggregated by rate zone | Assess the freight impact of remote high-zone orders |
Switching the dimension does not change the statistical scope; it only changes the aggregation and sorting angle. The metric cards at the top show dimension-specific metrics accordingly.
2.3 Drill down into details
Click a warehouse, state, or zone in the dimension navigation or in a chart. The chart area switches to that object's breakdown, and the metric cards are replaced by that object's metrics together with its share of the global total.
You can keep drilling down to the product level. The drill-down path is shown at the top; click any node on the path to return to that level.
3. Notes
3.1 Statistical scope and rules
Before reading any number on this page, confirm these four rules:
| Rule | Description |
|---|---|
| Order status | Only shipped orders are counted. Orders not yet shipped are excluded. |
| Business type | Only dropshipping orders are counted. Other business types are excluded. |
| Destination country | Only orders whose delivery address is in the United States are counted. |
| Statistical time | Orders are attributed by ship time, not order creation time or billing time. |
For these reasons, the order count here is usually lower than the total in the outbound order list. This is a difference in scope, not missing data.
3.2 Address resolution and unknown addresses
The system resolves the delivery location in this order:
- First match by delivery ZIP code to obtain state, city, and map coordinates.
- If the ZIP code cannot be matched, fall back to the city and state on the order.
- If neither resolves, the order falls into unknown address.
Unknown-address orders are still included in total order count and total logistics cost, but they are not counted in any state, zone, or map location, and they do not appear in matched distribution results. A large number of unknown-address orders usually means the delivery ZIP code is missing or malformed, which is a useful basis for pushing customers to standardize delivery information.
3.3 Metric definitions
In dimension view, the metric cards at the top show:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Order Count | All orders matching the filters, including unknown-address orders. |
| Total Logistics Fee | Total logistics cost of those orders. |
| Matched Orders | Orders whose delivery location was resolved successfully. |
| Match Rate | Matched orders ÷ total order count. |
| Matched Logistics Fee | Logistics cost of matched orders, and its share of total logistics cost. |
| Unknown-Address Orders | Orders whose delivery location could not be resolved. |
| Unknown-Address Logistics Fee | Logistics cost of unknown-address orders. |
After you select a specific object, the cards also show:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Average Logistics Fee per Order | Logistics cost ÷ order count for that object. |
| States Covered / Warehouses Shipping / Zones Covered | Number of lower-level dimension values the object involves, and its share of the global total. |
| High-Zone Order Rate | Share of orders in high rate zones. A zone number of 6 or above counts as high. |
| Average Rate Zone | Average rate zone level of that object's orders. |
| Zone Attribute | Whether the zone is classified as regular, high, or unknown. |
Logistics fee amounts at or above one thousand are shown abbreviated in thousands.
3.4 Logistics fee source
Order logistics cost uses the final freight first. When the final freight is not yet determined, the estimated freight placed with the order is used. When neither exists, it is counted as zero. For this reason, right after an order ships and before freight is settled, the cost here may differ from the later invoice.
4. FAQ
Q1: Why is the order count here lower than in the outbound order list?
This page counts only shipped dropshipping orders with a US delivery address, while the outbound order list includes all statuses and business types. The two have different scopes. Check the sources of difference under "3.1 Statistical scope and rules".
Q2: The page has orders, but many areas on the map are empty. Why?
Those orders are probably unknown-address orders. When the ZIP code is missing, malformed, or cannot be matched to a US location, the order is not plotted on the map. Check the 【Unknown-Address Orders】 metric first, then drill down by customer to find which customers need to standardize delivery information.
Q3: The cost does not match my invoice. Is the data wrong?
Not necessarily. This page takes the freight on the order, preferring the final freight and falling back to the estimated freight before settlement. Invoices are calculated separately under billing rules, so the two differ. Use the invoice for reconciliation.
Q4: Can I export the distribution data?
This page is an analysis view for reviewing distribution and drilling into breakdowns. For detailed data, export from the corresponding order or outbound order list page.
Q5: Can I only choose current month, last month, and last three months?
Yes. The current version provides these three preset periods and does not support custom start and end dates.
